Between Erquy and Pléneuf-Val-André, the Château de Bienassis is one of the jewels of the Côtes-d'Armor heritage. During the holidays, guided tours allow you to discover the secrets of this listed 15th and 17th century historical monument.

Discover the life of a castle in Erquy

Protected by ramparts and moats dating from the 16th century, the Château de Bienassis is a remarkable architectural ensemble built of pink Erquy sandstone and granite. Throughout the summer, the castle of Erquy opens its doors to the public for guided tours, musical entertainment and a great sound and light show at dusk.

Follow the guide, he will tell you the history of this seigniorial residence which has been maintained and inhabited for six centuries. The visit begins with the entrance to the castle and its main staircase, the large "company" room, the guard room, the kitchen and the dining room. The visit continues in the French garden with its 230 old rosebushes, the vegetable garden, the stables, the cellar, the chapel and the large avenue classified as a historic monument.

Activities at the castle

All summer long, come and laugh and play with your family at the Château de Bienassis. On the programme: dramatised visits to the various rooms in the castle, horse-drawn carriage rides, traditional games from the Middle Ages, animal shows, tales and legends with stilt walkers, unicorns, ferrets, sensory walks along an ornithological trail, escape games... So many original ways to experience castle life at Bienassis!

Every two years, Bienassis Castle stages the great figures of Breton history during a fantastic night-time sound and light show performed outdoors, combining costumes, decorations, illuminations and music.
