The most beautiful beaches of the Penthièvre coast in Brittany, Côtes-d'Armor
The Côtes-d'Armor are full of beautiful beaches for swimming, water sports or simply relaxing. From Cap Fréhel in the east to the Pointe de Pléneuf in the west, via Erquy, there are many possibilities. We have selected five little corners of paradise for you to discover during your stay at the campsite in Erquy.
Saint-Michel beach in Erquy
Hidden away in Erquy in the Côtes-d'Armor, Saint-Michel beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in this small Breton resort, known for its wild and generous nature. With its lagoon-like appearance, its white sand and turquoise waters, Saint-Michel beach attracts holidaymakers and families looking for a change of scenery. Its special feature: a beautiful view of Cap-Fréhel and the islet of Saint Michel, accessible on foot at low tide via a tombolo (check the tide times).
The great beach of Val-André
This is the most famous beach of Pléneuf-Val-André. Very easy to access, it stretches over 2.5 km. People come here to laze on the fine sand and let their children splash around in complete safety. At the very end, the cove of Piégu is nicknamed "Le Petit Nice". And the name says it all: a beautiful promenade-dyke allows you to admire the pretty villas of the "Belle Epoque" which line the seafront.
The Pissot cove in Pléneuf-Val-André
Nestled between the port of Dahouët and the large beach of Val-André, the Pissot cove is not the best known nor the easiest to access, but it is well worth a visit. This small cove, sheltered from the wind, is surrounded by lush vegetation, offering a real haven of peace at the "end of the world". The setting is magnificent and there are not too many people.
The Sables-d'Or beach in Fréhel
The Sables-d'Or beach in Fréhel is often ranked as one of the most beautiful beaches in Brittany. Adjacent to the historic seaside resort of Sables-d'Or-les-Pins, this long stretch of golden sand is 3 km long. In addition to swimming, you can practice sand yachting, kitesurfing and windsurfing. To reach this pretty beach from Erquy, take the D786 in the direction of Cap Fréhel, then follow the direction of Les Sables d'Or les Pins (D34).
The Great beach of Saint-Cast-le-Guildo
The peninsula of Saint-Cast-le-Guildo is home to several beaches that are very popular with families. The Grande Plage is the most famous of them, sheltered from the wind and ideal for swimming and relaxing. The sea is accessible even at low tide. The slope is gentle enough to enter the water gradually. As a bonus, there is a beautiful panorama of the Pointe du Décollé from the dike.
